I can't tell you how many women (me included) have dated someone that they weren't 'attracted' to physically, yet were attracted to the man's heart or soul. I'm just saying that what he 'looks' like probably isn't really a measure of her wanting that 'look'. It's always a pleasant surprise to find that you've done so.

If it's any consolation, most of the rest of the country is none too financially secure, either, me included. Prices have gone up and nobody's income has increased by very much lately. Some of us have no income at all and are having to manage somehow.

Listen, don't waste any time thinking about what might have been. Go from here. Sounds like you needed a rest from the stress of your former job. That doesn't mean your future holds nothing exciting. It just means you're in a lacuna at the moment. And if you need extra cash, why not look for a temporary, part time consulting gig or start a small business in another field completely?Anaisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-72820501727587742232013-10-21T10:57:24.165-04:002013-10-21T10:57:24.165-04:00Well.....just stop it.
OK, that wasn't very ...Well.....just stop it.
OK, that wasn't very helpful was it?
But I'll tell you what always helps me at times of self doubt......gratitude. No matter what you may be saying to yourself in these dark days, the fact of the matter is that you have much to be grateful for. Your two beautiful daughters come to mind right off the bat. If you have a car payment, then you have a nice car, something else to be grateful for. Home repair expenses? Then you have a roof over your head. And in today's economy, just having a job is something to be grateful for.
From what I've observed of you since I began reading your blog all those years ago is that you are extremely intelligent and capable, I feel like a complete moron in comparison. You made choices back then based on where you were at the time and I doubt that you couldn't take them across the goal line, you CHOSE, for very valid reasons to leave.
Many years ago I left a very secure, well paying job to start my own business, and when I left, I walked away from a mountain of stock options. Turns out that I would have made considerable money had I stayed and exercised those options (when they were bought out). Hindsight...20/20. I have never beat myself up about it though because leaving the firm was a quality of life decision and it more than accomplished what I'd hoped it would.
Chin up...it is ALWAYS darkest before the dawn. You have NO idea what wonderful thing might be around the next corner.Have the T-shirtnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-21573577410841408352013-10-19T19:49:59.371-04:002013-10-19T19:49:59.371-04:00I think sometimes the second-guessing game is one ...I think sometimes the second-guessing game is one of the hardest things to deal with.
